The 3M™ Organic Vapor/Acid Gas Cartridge 6003 helps provide organic vapor and acid gas protection in a variety of environments. When properly used with an approved 3M respirator properly fitted, this respirator cartridge helps provide respiratory protection from certain organic vapors, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, or hydrogen fluoride. The cartridge may be used for vapor concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces or 50 times PEL with quantitatively fit tested full facepieces. Recommended applications for the cartridge include assembly and mechanical, batch-charging, change-overs, chemical dispensing, clean-up, cleaning, handling, painting, parts cleaning, pesticide application, powder, and seal coating. Inventory needs and training requirements for safety equipment are reduced because this respirator cartridge selection works for many different applications. This cartridge is commonly used in the following industries: agriculture, aluminum reduction, chemical manufacturing, laboratories, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, and utilities.

Industries in which this cartridge is commonly used include chemicals, construction, oil and gas, and transportation. It is meant for use with 3M™ Half and Full Facepieces 6000, 7500, and FF-400 Series with bayonet filter holders. The cartridge has been assigned the color code “black” as per the NIOSH system.

The 3MTM Particulate Filter 5N11, N95 is NIOSH certified and offers particulate protection against certain non-oil containing aerosols. The 5N11 passes NIOSH testing criteria providing a minimum filter efficiency of 95%.* NIOSH Approved N95* Protection and performance • Advanced filter construction reduces linting, helping to ensure exacting results during painting and refinishing operations. • Filter design helps prevent rapid clogging from paint aerosols. Use For: Solids and non-oil based particles including paint sprays (with appropriate gas and vapor cartridges). Do Not Use For: Gases and vapors, including those present in paint spraying operations, unless combined with approved chemical cartridges. Sandblasting. Aerosol concentrations that exceed 10 times the OSHA PEL with half facepiece, or 50 times the PEL with full facepiece when quantitatively fit tested, or applicable government regulations, whichever is lower. This respirator filter does not supply oxygen  

Important Before using these filters, you must determine the following: 1. The type of contaminant(s) for which the respirator is being selected. 2. The concentration level of contaminant(s). 3. Whether the respirator can be properly fitted on the wearer’s face. Do not use with beards, on other facial hair, or other conditions that prevent a good seal between the face and the faceseal of the respirator. 4. Before use of these respirators, a written respiratory protection program must be implemented, meeting all the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, including training, medical evaluation and fit testing.
